What Causes Heart Palpatations After Taking Neo-mercazole?
Question: I was diagonised for thyorid on 17th march 2014.I am using the tab called neo-mercazole 10 mg. One tab after break fast.(Per Day)
i have lost 7 kgs before taking the tab then only the doc advised for thyorid test.& loosing hairs also.
I have too much of heart palpatation.I feel scared some times to go in the lift or crowds.
Please suggest me

Dear ma'm, hi! you have a thyrotoxic state. so you have been put on neo mercazole. but you must know the cause of your increased thyroid activity? please let me know your thyroid report and also see if you have anti TPO antibodies done. also you will need Tc99 uptake scan for thyroid to rule out toxic nodule. only after this work up you will know your clear status. then you can take the drug you have been prescribed. for palpitation you may take propranolol 20 mg twice a day. weight loss will improve once your thyroid balance is normalised. do you have some eye symptoms as well? your treatment may take some 18 to 24 months and you will need frequent monitoring ie TSH and FT4 every 6 to 8 weeks. regards!
