Brief Answer:
Some more details in history will help pinpoint the reason as heart / lung

Detailed Answer:
Hello I am Dr Mody and I would be addressing your concern.
I would like to ask some more details in history.
1) As far as I understand you don't have hypertension, diabetes and heart issues, particularly low pumping of the heart.
2) 2nd what came first was it the cough or fluttering sensation..
3) any chest pain, easy tiredness, breathlessness while you walk and since how long are the symptoms
Now here two organs are involved the lungs and the heart.
So there arises two possibilities.
1) common reason :you had cough due to some respiratory tract infection. Here you will have features like body ache, cough with expectoration, sometimes low fever.
In such circumstances there is reactionary increase sensation of heart beats as the increase in response to the infection.
Treating the infection will take care of the heart rate.
2) more rarer: the heart rate increases because of some electrical disturbance in the heart circuit, and in response there is some fluid in the lungs giving rise to cough. Such cough will be more when you lie down, during sleep.
Do help me with some more details and I would help you with further investigation and treatment plan.
