What Causes Hearing Heart Beats In Left Ear?

default
Posted on Fri, 16 Jan 2015
Question: I hear my heartbeat in my left ear (for 38 years). It drives me nuts especially when it is very quiet. I sleep with a box fan in the room to block the ear noise at night. Is there anything one can do to help with this.

To answer your questions:

1. My heart is in A-flutters all the time. From at least my teen years I had Wolfe-Parkinson-White Syndrome until 2008 when they finally ablated that. I had 27 other ablations to keep my heart from being in A-fibs. I had the AV nodal ablation in Feb. 2012 because medication was not controlling my heart rate.

2. Average blood pressure in the last ten days is 134/80 and today 128/80.

3. My heart rate is at 70 because of the pacemaker. I am pacemaker dependent.

4. I have never consulted a psychiatrist.

5. I don't know what comorbidities means.

Brief Answer:
Quite long standing problem, but there are possibilities to get rid of it

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,

You have a really big and difficult problem. But still I will try to help you with some advises

1. you can change Atenolol regimen: 50 mg in the morning and 100 mg at night
2. consult your cardiologist maybe there is a possibility to lower your pacemaker rate a bit
3. consult a psychiatrist for a medication for better sleep. If your sleep is deeper there is possibility you will not hear your heartbeat

Hope it will help
