Posted on Mon, 24 Oct 2016
Question: I am 61 y/o female with PMR. I am taking Cymbalta and I believe what I am experiencing is side effects of the Cymbalta.......clumsiness, hand tremors and a quivering feeling inside my stomach. I'm in more pain now was 3 months ago.....can you just stop taking the cymbalta w/o weaning off of it? I'm so afraid of Parkinson! These symptoms occurred after I started taking Cymbalta! Any help would be great...thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

I find it a bit unlikely that these symptoms are caused by Cymbalta, as the symptoms you describe are not known side effects of Cymbalta. However, to answer your question, you cannot simply stop Cymbalta -- you need to wean off of it. If you stop it you will have withdrawal which would be unpleasant. Please work with your doctor to slowly lower the dose.
