Question: I just started taking Migrelief two days ago, and last night I had hallucinations , woke up almost every hour and had severe dry mouth and today am very week. I take other medications at night for migraine prevention, amitriptilene, topomax, and muscle relaxers - tizandine and zanaflex. Could these medications cause these side effects?

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

In people over age 60, the following medications can cause all the symptoms you list above: Migrelief, tizandine, zanaflex. The likelihood of dry mouth, weakness, and hallucinations all increase when these medications are used in combination. I strongly recommend you stop taking all three medications and visit your doctor as soon as possible to discuss which one to continue, or switch to a different medication.
