Question: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/AskDoctorInboxServlet?page=viewQuery&queryId=69517

Hi doctor,
this is in relation with the same question askd 2 yrs before.jzt have a look at my QueSTioNS AND HAIR SNAPS 2 yrs back.i have uploaded some more pics in these two yrs to give u a better idea.Despite trying so hard and spending a lot of money its feels so bad 2 see my hair loss year after year.As explained earlier as per my doctor i used the grocapix geland kerglo tablets from aug 2013-dec 2013.I discontinued the course since no replenishment of new hair was there ,hairloss also didnt stop, although my hair length improved .i personally feel that once u stop the course the hairfall increases much more.Hence i consulted a well known doctor from March 2014-march 2015,he gave me a KERAGLOW SHAMPOO,DIVIDIL FORTE ,DIVISONE AND BIOPAN TABLETS,he asked me to use the DIVIDIL FORTE ,DIVISONE DROPS thrice a day, however i used it only once a day(huge cost requires 2k /mnth).My hair length again improved but hair loss didnt stop(i relocated to XXXXXXX ,hence feel water problems are the reason) .i stopped the course jzt beacuse of no results for new hair and no stopping of hair loss(hairline still gone back) once i stopped the course the hair loss was exponential in last two months and now i had to shave the hair (all snaps attached).i am very healthy and dont have any health issues..But it feels so depressing to see the hairloss ,since i tried so hard to prevent it.and i lose confidence alSO..plzz help me out, should i proceed the course,i lost faith..will it regrow the lost hair??plzz share thoughts on stem cell treatment for hair, like does it have side effects..or sugggest me a treatment ..plzzzz I JUST WANT HAIR BACK

Brief Answer:
Androgenetic alopecia is most likely possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your query.
I have seen the attached photographs also.
I understand your concern.
As per details, it seems that you are suffering from a condition called Androgenetic alopecia. It is characterised by recession of frontal hair line and hair loss mainly fron temporal area and crown of head. It is also known as Patterned hair loss.
This type of hair loss is not due to any deficiency but because of male hormones Di hydro testosterone and testosterone.
In such cases, topical minoxidil is considered to be the treatment of choice. I prefer to advise it in concentration of 5 percent to my male patients. It has to be applied twice daily over the affected areas. Thr maximum amount is 2 ml per day.
Apart from.this, oral finasteride also works well in combination with minoxidil lotion. Finasteride tablet is preferably takrn in the morning in a dose of 1 mg per day.
These drugs are to be taken under doctor's supervision only.
You have already taken various tablets containing vitamins and minerals necessary for hair growth. You need not to continue tose tablets anymore. However , you can continue to use the shampoo.

The latest invention in this is introduction of Platelet rich plama therapy which really gives good results. Itvis done by extracting growth factors from your own blood and injected into affected area.
These modalities of treatment would likely help you to regain the lost hair. Do not lose hope and take worry.
You can share my opinion with your treating doctor.
I am sure that he would agree with this.
I hope it helps.
Stay healthy.

Brief Answer:
treatment and side effects

Detailed Answer:
Regarding minoxidil, very few people do experience headache as the main side effect. However it is not so common. Other side effects are allergic or irritant contact dermatitis to minoxidil.
With finasteride, a very small percentage of people experience sexual dysfunction. However it is more of psychological side effect .
PRP that is Platelet rich plama therapy is absolutely safe. It is because your own blood is being used.
Stem cell therapy is also one of the recent therapy used for hair growth. It has proven to be a beneficial therapy for regrowth of lost hair with almost no side effects.
Cost varies from centre to centre varying from 5000-10000 rupess per session.
sessions are repeated every 4-6 weeks with minimum of 3 sessions as mandatory.
You may go for any of these to be done by an expert dermatologist.
I prefer to do PRP therapy in my patients and have really seen very good results in most of my patients.
However you should discuss all this with your treating doctor.
I hope I am able to solve your query.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
yes these are surgical procedures

Detailed Answer:
Yes these are surgical procedures. As I told, in PRP , your own blood is processed and growth factors are extracted which are later injected into scalp. In stem cell therapy, already prepared solution is injected.
These are simple procedures. You should not have any anxiety undergoing this procedure.
Many a people are opting for it. However the results are good if treatment is started early and in people of young age group like 20-40years.

Everyone is not equally concerned about their outlook as this kind of hair loss is purely of cosmetic concern.
I hope it helps.
Stay healthy.
