Insufficient history

Detailed Answer:
hi.
thanks for posting query at HCM.

its hard to reach a conclusion without knowing:

1 your height and weight
2 since how long are you trying to reduce belly fat
3 besides walk and work out, do you maintain a low-fat diet and restrict calorie intake per day
4 do you feel weakness, or cold intolerance, or have menstrual irregularities
5 are you using any medications/? traditional or western? if yes, for what purpose and since when?

look forward for the answers
if you need a thyroid test or not - depends on the answers to above questions.

thank you

Detailed Answer:
hi.
thanks for providing the answers.

your BMI ( body mass index) is in the normal range.
BMI can be used to indicate if a person is normal, overweight, obese, underweight. Normal BMI score is between 19 and 25. Yours is around 20.

i suggest you to maintain a healthy diet which is rich in protein , adequate in carbohydrate and low in fat ( fried food). Avoid junk food and beverages altogether.
Daily intake may not exceed 1500 to 1600 Kcal/day. Furthermore, exercise confined to maintain shape of belly ( waist)maybe carried out daily ( sit ups/ squats). You might working out already as mentioned in your query.
hopefully, you would observe difference within few weeks.

in hyperthyroidism ( hyper functioning thyroid), body weight decreases despite increase appetite. Heat intolerance, hyperactive are other symptoms.

in hypothyroidism ( low functioning thyroid) , body weight is increasing despite diet control .your body weight is ideal for your age and height.
so LOW functioning thyroid is ruled out as per your clinical scenario.

hope the information i provided is helpful.
any further questions are welcomed.

regards
Dr Tayyab Malik
