Question: Hi. I am a 52 yr old female. For the past 7 months I have been suffering with frequent explosive diarrhea attacks multiple times per day sometimes with bright red blood on the wiping paper and in toilet. Sometimes there is only watery evacuation. I have nearly constant solar plexus pain that radiates down the right upper abdomen. My gallbladder has been removed. My energy level is down and I feel terrible all the time. Sleep is fitfull at best. Any recommendations to resolve? I do not feel I can take much more of this!!
~XXXX.

I failed to mention I had a hysterectomy to remove cancer. I have been diagnosed with Reynaud's Syndrome and have been steadily losing my hair!! I'm not yet bald but my hair is super thin despite my efforts to reverse with hair care products. I have damaged my left rotator cuff and will be having an MRI soon to discuss options. No more than I eat my husband thinks I should weigh 100# but sadly I am obese as well. My mother had diverticulitis and heart valve surgery. My father had triple bypass surgery at 49. He died at 61 of systems failure complicated by heart disease. My brother has diabetes and is being tested for heart issues. My sister has bone ailments and in the past had issues with cortisol levels but that seems to be resolved now. I don't drink or smoke and do not live among second hand smoke either. While I grew up in south Louisiana we live in XXXXXXX now and have been here for over 14 years.

Brief Answer:
Could be inflammatory bowel disease, colonoskopy advisable

Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,

your symptoms of "frequent explosive diarrhea attacks multiple times per day sometimes with bright red blood on the wiping paper" in my opinion can have 2 main reasons:

1. Chronic inflammatory bowel disease, best be diagnosed by colonoskopy
2. Some food intolerance, if you would be my patient i'd rule out lactoseintolerance, (exhalation test after taking defined test dose of lactose) and glutenintolerance first (blood test), and if that s not it then also a test for fructose- and sorbitolintolerance is advisable.

Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
