Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

Thanks for your question and your concern.

Fluttering in the ear is a condition which is medically referred to as Tinnitus. There are different reasons. possibilities are

1. Irregular blood blood flow around inner ear ( jugular vains). it coincides with heart beat.

2. Irregular muscular contraction of inner ear and muscles of eusthacian tube. Irregular temparomandibular joint muscular contractions.

3.Loud noises- gunshot, crackers.

4. Medications- NSAIDS, aspirin.

5. Brain related - Acoustic neuroma, seizures.

6.Ear related - foreign body, impacted wax, perforation in ear, meniers disease.

I suggest you to consult an ent surgeon, detailed ent examination, otoscopy for perforation, balance test, audiometry test for co existent hearing loss and eusthacian block. if necessary ultrasound neck for aneurysms, jugular vain abnormalities. BERA- for aucostic neuroma.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
