What Causes Flu Like Symptoms After Lowering Limictal Dosage?

Question: My husband has backed down to 100mg on his limictal because of shortness of breath tingling in feet and chest pains. Now he has flu like symptoms, is the flu symptoms related to the decrease in medicine?

Brief Answer: Limictal does not cause flu like symptoms Detailed Answer: Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day Dear Ms Lamictal or Lomotrigine is an anti epileptic drug. The most common adverse effects are 1. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX syndrome 2. Blood dyscriasis: It can affect the white blood cell count. It's not known to cause flu like symptoms. But when a patient is on limictal and develops fever , it is important to do complete blood count to confirm white blood cells are normal. If the counts are normal there is definitely no cause for concern. Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
