Brief Answer:
cefixime, broad spectrum antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing to us.
went through your query.
The earlier problem and current problem may not be related.
This time the child may have contracted a fresh infection from the enviornment around or by and infected person, it ll be difficult for me to tell exactly without examining the child personally.
Secondly the drug given to you is cefixime a broad spectrum antibiotic used to control infection there by reducing the fever, continue to give paracetamol to control fever as prescribed by your doctor.
Store the medicine secef in fridge, do not freeze.
To reduce fever effectively , do sponging with warm water along with giving paracetamol syrup.
If the fever is not reducing beyond 4 days then you ll have to review with your doctor, hope i have cleared your queries, thank you.

Thanks Dr. Just a follow up query..

Baby's outside body temperature now is not showing any signs of fever. But he is weak and his urine is hot. Should we keep administering P125?
Will continious use of paracetamol syrup lead to any problems(its being used for the first 5 days then not used for 2days and now again using it from yesterday night(7-8 days in total) along with Oflomox(first) and Secef(now)?

Brief Answer:
>99 deg F/ >37 deg C

Detailed Answer:
Hello, thanks for the follow up
If the temperature is >99 deg F OR > 37 deg C , it is considered as fever.
So check the child s temperature once in 6 hrs , only if it exceeds the value you may give paracetamol.
Over dosage of paracetamol( exceeding 3 or 4 times the prescribed doses for a long time may be more than 10 days) may some times lead to liver injury.
I feel its better to review with your doctor to get few lab tests done to ascertain the cause of the fever and to start the appropriate treatment, thank you regards.
