Brief Answer:
anxiety probably

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

feeling hot and cold may occur when a patient has fever. The patient feels cold when the temperature is rising and hot thereafter, until the temperature returns to normal or near-normal. The urine smell is not a specific symptom unless accompanied by other symptoms like frequency, burning sensation when urinating, flank pain, etc.

So checking with a thermometer would help to confirm or exclude fever. Taking a few measurements in different hours of the day would help because a patient may have fever for only part of the day. Your description though, sounds more like anxiety related problems, particularly since other people could not confirm your observations.

So in conclusion, my advice is to exclude fever. If you don't have any fever then you're probably OK and you'll have to deal with anxiety. If other symptoms occur or you'd like to be more certain (and safe) and you'd better visit your doctor for a thorough medical examination. Unfortunately this kind of online conversation cannot substitute this visit!

I hope you find my comments helpful!

my temperature is normally low 96.2 right now. I've been taking the same low dose of xanax for 4 years could or possibly be withdrawal? im a hypochondriac so i jump to blood cancer or kidney failure no not burning no pain maybe a 1 out of 10 in burning urine. frequently yes because im constantly drinking water. I'm going to go through alot of anxiety if i visit the doctor so trying to get as much information here if it's nothing serious i don't want to put my body through that stress.

Brief Answer:
doesn't sound serious

Detailed Answer:
According to your description, this condition does not sound serious. It's probably due to anxiety. So if you'd like to check it out, you'd better visit your doctor. I don't believe that your doctor will make a different diagnosis...

any relation to pale greenish stool?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
please upload a photo

Detailed Answer:
Patient descriptions about stool color are not very helpful usually. Pale could mean disease or it could be normal. Please upload a good quality (well lit) photo of the stool. It would be much more helpful than just talking about it!

Brief Answer:
this is negative

Detailed Answer:
I don't get it... We were talking about the stool and you uploaded a negative urine test. Am I missing a point here? Anyway, it has nothing to do with your symptoms...

i asked another dr on here he said i have a uti i thought the test was positive definitely negative for nitrites the whole square isn't purple but i can see a small portion of purple in the leukocytes section. i assumed being cold and chills or hot flashes was caused by kidney infection or uti

Brief Answer:
it's unlikely to cause your symptoms

Detailed Answer:
If it were a kidney infection then you should have had high fever with rigors, so this is out of the question. A lower urinary tract infection (cystitis) requires urinary tract symptoms like frequency, burning pain, lower abdominal pain, etc. Without symptoms there is no infection. Besides that there is a little purple, signifying partial positivity for "traces". Traces means almost nothing regarding infectious processes.

negative...

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

this is a negative result. Don't worry about it. Even if you had "traces", you shouldn't worry about it!

ok here is stool sample
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (24 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
not a great picture but it's probably OK

Detailed Answer:
The picture is not well focused but the colors seem rather OK. Light colored stool might mean lack of bilirubin, which occurs in jaundice. A darker color would be 100% fine though. To make sure that there is no problem with the stool, you can check the urine color. A dark color (like brandy for example, which is brown, not yellow) would probably mean jaundice. I doubt you'll find anything abnormal in the urine but check it out - just in case!

ok here's a clear picture. if you can zoom. my first urine of the day is darker. would jaundice symptoms come and go?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (12 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
looks normal

Detailed Answer:
Your stool color looks normal. Such slight discolorations are usually related to the food.

Regarding the urine, don't focus on the brightness! The color is that matters. If the urine is yellow, it's OK. Dark yellow means concentrated urine. Brown urine (like brandy or cognac) means jaundice. Jaundice won't come and go unless the underlying situation is treated properly.

every thing im reading says bile causes green stool. any relation to feeling hot all over and fatigue? it happen again today the stool color
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (3 hours later)
Brief Answer:
no need to worry about that

Detailed Answer:
Bile may cause the green color. In most cases the green color is related to the food (spinach and other green vegetables, iron supplements for example).
Sometimes the stool may pass very fast through the intestine. In such cases the green bile cannot fully convert to the normal brown color. This is not an abnormal stool though.

What made me doubt a little at first was the somewhat light color in the first picture. Although it wasn't as light as in obstructive jaundice, I couldn't be sure. After our discussion I can assure you that there is no sign of jaundice!

Obviously your stool has nothing to do with your symptoms.

Kind Regards!
