What Causes Fatty Liver?

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Jul 2014
Question: On my most recent blood test all results were within normal range except MCH (97.2) and MCH (33.3). My oncologist said my bloodwork looked fine; my internist said I have "fatty liver disease". I did receive the hep-b series shortly before the red cross refused to allow me to donate blood some 15 years ago.

Brief Answer:
Values are normal and fatty liver is reversible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr. Jyothi BL and I will be answering your query.
Looking at your blood reports, I would say that you are reports are normal.

The MCV values normally is 80-99 femto litres. (97.2 is normal)
The MCH values normally are 30-34 pg. (33.3 is normal)

Various laboratory values give different normal levels. This value looks fine to me.

Fatty liver is common as age progresses. It only indicates fat accumluation in liver. It is reversible and you can reduce fatty liver disease change

It can be reversed by exercises, weight reduction and good fat intake.
Heptatis B shots cannot cause hematological or fatty liver disease problems

Any further queries, happy to help again.
