What Causes Fatigue, Headache, Indigestion And Brain Fog?

Posted on Tue, 12 Jul 2016
Question: What can cause a PHYSICAL sensation on the outside of my throat- the skin feels stretched or as if there is something tight, like a collar, around it? I went to my RNP for thyroid (from advice here!) It is constant, worsens by end of day, is barely noticeable in AM. Also fatigued ( could sleep for 12 hours if possible) Headaches daily, metabolism slowed noticeably, this is now affecting my life and causing brain fog...no other word for it. I am worried about how i am doing my job. I do nothng but work and sleep as soon as I come home
I do work many hours high stress job.
She had lab do blood work after fasting.Took 6 weeks to tell me the following " 100% normal with one exception. No infection, anemia, electrolyte imbalance, thyroid abnormality (normal hormone stores), kidney or liver problem, or abnormal cholesterol. Blood sugar is in normal range at high end for St Mary's parameters, but maybe high by others'--glucose 107, some cut off normal at 100. It is possible that you have some insulin resistance which we could check further. The exception is the MTHFR--showed negative for 2 mutations but detected PCR. I don't know the significance of this, and the lab tech didn't know either. I have a call in to the pathologist and as soon as I hear back from him, I will let you know. So the only potential explanation I have for your symptoms is possibly borderline blood sugars or the MTHFR PCR detection."
I am not imagining this... I need some advice, somewhere else to look for a cause with this. ANY thoughts, advice, what else could it be?

Brief Answer:
It can be Fibromyalgia.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your query , I will like to tell you that it can be Fibromyalgia or some possible autoimmune disease like SLE . Possibility of fibromyalgia is more as all the symptoms you are stating fit into this disease . If you have any recurrent oral ulcerations , photosensitivity , raynauds phenomenon or dryness of eyes , mouth etc then please tell so that we can suggest you further .

Take care.

Honest response to this: I do not believe such a thing as fibromyalgia exists... the people I know who have this "disease" or "disorder" and it is becoming so common... are wealthy and or bored people who have never been truly ill a day in their lives and all share a distinct liking for narcotic pain medication.
I do NOT want to be ill. I do not want to take medication. The idea of being given that label makes me want to throw this computer across the room... I reject it 100%. I would rather be called "crazy lady with the psychosomatic symptoms".
I am a body and mind aware person who lives a very health-conscious lifestyle, including not eating junk food, not drinking alcohol except on rare social occasions, no smoking.
I do not have oral ulceration.
I do not have photosensitivity (I am not afflicted with vampirism or fibromyalgia).
Yes I have dryness of mouth, but I still don't have imaginary-myalgia.

Rejected...rejected...rejected.

Dear Madam ,

Thank you for reverting back.

As a doctor we have to consider all possibilities and share it with the patient so dont get annoyed over this . Then another possibilty is of autoimmune disease , I think you should get ANA , ENA profile done to look for autoantibodies . They can also give rise to similar symptoms and sometimes are detected only upon serological testing .
