What Causes False Positives For HSV-2 While On Doxycycline?
Question: I was taking Doxycycline when I received a positive HSV 2 result. Can this antibiotic cause a false positive?

No, Doxycycline won't cause a false positive HSV 2 test. You are probably suffering from that and hence, the infection is there. So, i would recommend in such case to go for IgM or IgG evaluation to know that the infection is recent or an old one.
HSV 2 commonly causes genital herpes and spreads through sexual contact and skin-to-skin contact.

I was tested on Monday and have never had any signs. Does Doxycycline impact results?
