What Causes False Positive For Valium In A Drug Screening Test?

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Nov 2016
Question: I recently took a drug screening from a new pain doctor. They told me I tested positive for Valium. I don't take valium so my question is does Chlordiazepoxide-Clidinium, Benzonatate, or Lexapro have valium in them. I also am on Simponi XXXXXXX infusion treatments...not sure if it has anything in it either. Just wanting to know why I would test positive for Valium.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

Chlordiazepoxide is essentially the same compound as Valium and they act and behave exactly the same way in the body. This is why you tested positive for this drug category.
