What Causes Facial And Jaw Pain, Sore Neck And Swollen Lymph Nodes?

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Mar 2016
Question: about 3 months ago, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection; worst one I recall complete with facial pain.
about 2 months ago, I saw my dentist for lower jaw/tooth pain. examination and xrays showed nothing.
now I can distinctly feel swollen parotid glands on both sides, facial and jaw/tooth pain, sore neck both sides so I'm assuming swollen lymph nodes, no temperature, but some fatigue. No bad taste in mouth, no dry mouth. have doctor's appointment in 4 weeks, wondering if I should wait.

Brief Answer:
You should not wait that long.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Unfortunately I am unable to give the exact reason of enlarged lymph nodes. In most cases its infection. But in some cases it can be lymphoma.
So it wont be a good idea to wait that long. At least blood work should be done and antibiotic given.
Ultrasound should be also done, especially if antibiotic wont solve the problem.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
