Brief Answer:
I recommend performing some tests to investigate for the cause

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would like explain that his symptomatology may be related to different disorders like:

- A viral infection. The symptoms would last for a short period and the beginning would be something acute. Have you measured his body temperature? Does he have fever?

- A thyroid dysfunction could also mimic this clinical scenario. The symptoms would start more insidiously.

- Adrenal gland insufficiency. In this case the beginning would be insidious too and the symptoms would persist for a longer time.

- Other disorders like chronic anemia, anxiety, vitamin deficiency etc. could also mimic this clinical scenario.

I recommend consulting with the GP for a careful physical examination and perform a resting ECG, chest x ray, routine blood test for infection, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes, thyroid hormones level, cortisol plasma levels, to find any possible causes.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions whenever you need!

Greetings! Dr. Iliri
