Brief Answer:
Weakness with dificid

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns and questions.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your medication for the treatment of clostridium difficile. You were not able to tolerate Flagyl which is very common and understandable. You were switched to Dificid or Fidaxomicin. This is a new antibioitic used for the treatment of clostridium. It is used twice a day for 10 days. One of the side effects from Dificid is anemia or a low blood count. If you are feeling tired then your blood counts could have dropped and made you feel tired. You would also appear pale and possibly have a high pulse count and light headedness. I recommend that you be seen by your medical professional to check your blood counts.

In summary
1. Dificid is treatment for clostridium difficile for 10 days
2. Dificid can cause anemia and tiredness
3. Seek medical attention for possible anemia

I hope this answers your question. Please contact HCM again with any of your health care concerns
