Question: My wife Woke up at 4am extreme dizziness. Very anxious - clammy. No fever. No pain. Could speak normally, eyes could track me normally. Sat up for about half hr. And worst of the dizziness abated. Returned if she laid her head back and was supine. She took 0.25 mg Xanax for anxiety and was quickly more calm. Fell asleep. is there something I should watch for?

Brief Answer:
Get her blood pressure checked.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM

This was probably a panic attack if there is history of panic disorder. Xanax resulted in improvement and resulted in reduction of symptoms.

In morning get her blood pressure checked and if that comes in lower range then she should be shown to a doctor. If the dizziness persist then tablet Betahistine can help. Any severe headache, trembling in body, confusion etc are warning signs and if she shows these signs then she should be taken to ER immediately.

Thanks. Take care
