Brief Answer:
eosinophilia

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting your query,

I'm am extremely sorry for the delay in replying as I was out of station,

I have read through your query and can understand your concern,

As per your description, the high eosinophil count if 1150 is quite high and is regarded as eosinophila.
Eosinophil is a component of white blood cell which acts by fighting against infections. Eosinophilia occurs when large number of eosinophils are recruited to a specific site or also may be due to increased production from bone marrow.

Before I could guide you any further, I would like to know a few more details related:
- It would be better if you could attach the report here so that I can get a look at all other parameters.

- do you have any associated symptoms like gastric discomfort, loss of appetite, unintentional weight loss, easy bruising etc.

- are you on any medications presently?

- the reason behind your test, why was it advised for you?

Kindly get back with your answers to the above details..

Regards

This is a regular yearly check up @ office. I have this high AEC count for the past 3 years. Hence I got this test done too to check the AEC values along with the other tests (Blood sugar and Lipid profile).

I attached a copy of the report

Brief Answer:
Explained below..

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing back,

I have reviewed the attached report.
So you are telling me that you have been having high AEC consistently for the past 3 years. Have you done any complete blood count test enlisting other parameters recently, as it would be needed to look at possible causes.

As I have mentioned in my previous message, high AEC denotes the following possibilibties:
- persistent infections
- upper respiratory conditions like asthma etc
- myeloproliferative disorders
- tissue disorders
- sometimes can denote cancer

I would suggest you to consult with a hematologist for further investigations to rule out all possible causes, and they might advise you treatment accordingly.

Treatment involves treating the causes like allergic conditions, parasite infections etc, and may start on corticosteroids or alpha interferon.

Hope this helps
Please feel free to discuss further and also keep me updated.

Wishing you good health

Regards
