Brief Answer:
likely jaundice which needs further medical attention.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and reviewed all the reports.

Considering your all LFTs (high bilirubin value with high SGOT,SGPT,ALP,GGT), you are likely suffering from (may be hepato-celluar) jaundice which needs further medical attention.

You will need further investigations for the cause of hepatitis.

You can ask your doctor for urine and stool test, viral markers like HbsAg , HCV , HAV, an ultrasound abdomen to know the status of liver, Prothrombin time with INR.

You might require antibiotic course to prevent super infection with other symptomatic treatment like Udilive 300 mg for liver enzyme supplements with some dietary restrictions.

For diet, you should follow these guidelines,

Avoid fatty fried, oily and junk food,
Have lots of fresh fruits, fruit juices and vegetables.

You can consult your doctor or local physician who will know about all the tests and will investigate it further.

Your vitamin D is (which is 12.2 ng/ml) significantly low.You can take vitamin D3 cholecalciferol in sachets or tablet forms 60,000 IU once weekly which will be available over the counter.

The major cause of vitamin D deficiency is lack of proper sun exposure or person remains covered throughout the day.

Apart from medical treatment, you should have adequate sun light exposure preferably in morning hours around 8 AM for minimum 10 to 15 minutes daily.

Hope this helps and let me know if you need more clarifications.

As pointed by you, my main concern was the higher values in LFT. Could these higher values suggest some sort of liver cancer or some incurable disease?

Brief Answer:
liver cancer is highly highly unlikley here.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.

This LFT values are highly unlikely because of some liver cancer or some incurable disease.I would NOT think above this possibility right now.So no need to worry about it.

All these liver function tests are highly sensitive tests and it is very difficult to comment on liver cancer or some incurable liver disease based on this investigations.

Also,to diagnose liver cancer, liver biopsy is required when it is indicated or as per your physician's opinion.

But as I discusses earlier,it will require further investigations to identify the underlying cause which is likely viral hepatitis here or some billiary involvement.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
