What Causes Dull Cramps In Lower Right Side Of Abdomen?

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jul 2015
Question: Hello! I've had a dull cramp, pinching sensation in the lower right side of my stomach that sometimes moves to the upper stomach, pain in my right thigh for about 2 months now. Had a normal ultra sound of the abdomen, ovaries etc. All blood tests normal. Had this pain about 6 years ago, had upper endoscopy, colonoscopy all normal and CAT scan normal then as well. My doctor thinks maybe IBS or muscle skeletal and won't give me a CAT scan Bc too much radiation and I've had two from years ago. They say stress can be a factor. Have you heard of this before?

Brief Answer:
Seems Stress induced IBS

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in

With all reports and endoscopy, USG normal the chances of IBS are most likely

I would suggest you manage your stress levels by meditation and take a good probiotic twice a day for minimum three weeks

If this does not help, get a stool report done if there is any form of infection take an antibiotic as per sensitivity report

Hope this helps

Ok, thank you. So that could cause right leg pain and when move certain ways? Its really only on the right side. Could it be muscle skeletal? And i feel like a CAT scan may be needed but the doctors said no. Now my boyfriend developed hpylori. Can that cause this ?

Brief Answer:
Leg pain could be musculoskeletal

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for your followup

The leg pain could be musculoskeletal
Take a muscle relaxant

CT May not be the investigation of need
Instead a urease test will help rule out H Pylori infection

But anyways H Pylori can not cause leg pain

Hope this helps

Thank you so much! So i will try a probiotic and meditation along with an antiinflammotory. Also, even though I havent had the colonscopy and endoscopy for a few years theres no need to repeat them bc im relatively young .

Brief Answer:
Reassure yourself

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I think you should wait and keep a watch on your symptoms if anything is observed right back to us and we will try to help you

Considering the fact that you are aware that the weight loss was because of dieting and stress I am sure you would do better if you manage stress

You should be improving gradually

You can rate and put your feedback comment once you close the discussion, there will be an option for it
