default
Posted on Thu, 16 Jun 2016
Question: I feel sleepy with heavy head for last two days. I also feel slight pain at the back side of my head. What could it be ? Can it be because of the abnormally high heat Banaglore is facing this year.
In fact whenever I start doing some activity which requires focus and concentration, I start feeling sleepy. I have observed this for many months now. Can you suggest what could it be.

Brief Answer:
May be related...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

At the outset, your symptoms are not very specific. They are too broad to arrive at a conclusive diagnosis. However, yes the unusually hot summer coupled with dehydration as well as stressor can cause heavy head / headache. Besides summer head and stressors, other life style condition such as lack of proper sleep, improper diet and lifestyle can be responsible for the same.
In addition I will also check for thyroid hormones, vitamin b12, blood sugar levels. Problems with those too can cause similar symptoms.

Since your symptoms are non specific, you should also consider a physical examination and evaluation from a physician.

Hope this answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications.
