What Causes Dizziness, Headache And Fatigue?

default
Posted on Wed, 20 May 2015
Question: Hi,

basically, Im currently suffering with an off balance feeling of dizziness, headache/pressure, fatigue, neck pain and sometimes pressure behind the eyes.

started about 7 weeks ago for a couple days, went to the docs had bloods which came back normal. It went away after three days.

came back three weeks later, much worse with neck and head pain, and have been dizzy for over two weeks.
had a ECG which came back 'ok' according to the doctor, but i read my results and it did say 'incomplete right bundle block'

I have pcos, and have very very infrequent periods. which cause me to have migraines. Im on my medication for this as they're very rare. Ive just had my period after missing four months which is longer than usual for me. I also have gilberts syndrome.

please if you have any advice!

I've also tried prochlorperazine which isn't much help. Drinking water kind of helps.

The off balance feeling is worse when standing or sitting. lying down in bed with my eyes closed isn't as bad

Brief Answer:
consult a neurologist and a cardiologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello madam,
Thanks for writing in to us at hcm.

This is Dr.Riyanka and I am glad to be helping you with your query.

Firstly we ll address your ECG report. If it states that there is incomplete right bundle branch block then kindly visit a cardiologist with your ECG report as he/she can do a 24 hour holter ECG monitoring. It is a portable device for continuously monitoring various electrical activity of the cardiovascular system. This will give you a better picture of your heart condition even when you are at home doing your routine activities.

About the dizziness:
Prochlorperazine belongs to the phenothiazine class of antipsychotic drug that are used for the treatment of nausea and vertigo.

The symptoms dizziness, headache, pain and fatigue call in for a number of differential diagnosis and can be due to vestibular problems, middle ear infections or vertebral column problems.

I suggest kindly visit a Neurologist as he may like to carry out investigations like Electroencephalography, MRI and an Xray of the neck.

He may also change the medication if prochlorperazine is not being much helpful.

Regarding Polycystic ovarian syndrome It is a problem in which a woman's hormones are out of balance. The body sugar levels are high as it have a problem using insulin (insulin resistance). It can even lead to depression. Hence it is good that you are already on medication.

Gilbert's syndrome is a genetic liver problem that usually does not need any treatment. A diet modification can minimise the disease.

Hope this answers your query. Don't worry .
