Posted on Tue, 5 Jul 2016
Question: I am 7 or 8 weeks pregnant and I sometimes feel like I am going to pass out. This morning I took a shower and suddenly got very light headed and hot also very clammy. I had to go lay down in a cold room in order not to pass out. What could this be from?

Brief Answer:
Normal symptom of pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Dizziness, syncope and recurrent passing out is due to low blood pressure which is common in early pregnancy due to the effect of the hormone progesterone, which is increased in pregnancy.
You should avoid standing for longer duration, as it leads to dizziness and syncope.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
