HI XXXXXXX thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The giddiness after sudden change is posture is usually due to

: Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) - It is an ear disease which manifests as vertigo (spinning head)/light headedness/dizziness after change in neck position. It is a benign condition which resolves with time.

You can consult ENT doctor for it. He will examine
; Hallpike manœuvre - It is a test in which your head and neck are positioned in different specific positions to induce vertigo. If positive, it means you are having BPPV.

No radiological investigation is required. Treatment is
: Avoiding those neck posture
: Tab Cinnarizine/Beta-histine or combination can be taken after prescription.

: Cervical spondylosis - It is cervical spine degenerative disease with disc prolapse. It manifests as neck pain, radiation to shoulder/hands, vertigo on flexion or forward bending of neck.

If your signs are matching, it could be the cause. Confirmation is by
; MRI cervical spine
; X ray cervical spine - Lateral/AP.

It can be treated by
: Neck collar use
: Avoid weight lifting
: Avoid pillow use
: Tablet Pregabaline/Gabapentine after proper prescription.
: Some neutron specific vitamin like Pyridoxine/Folic acid/Methylocobalamine after proper prescription.

You need not to worry, both conditions are treatable.
Hope it will help you. If still any doubt, do let me know.

Thanks. Take care.
