Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to gastroesophageal reflux

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. There are two possibilities that seem consistent with what you describe:
* You could be getting gastroesophageal refulx. The stomach acid refluxing into the foodpipe could cause your symptoms. In such a case taking prilosec (omeprazole) once daily in empty stomach before breakfast should be helpful. Long intervals between meals acts as a trigger for reflux and so try to get small but frequent meals.
* You could be getting some respiratory distress on over straining. It is common to occur. Getting some rest should resolve the problem. This does not however explain the burning. Steam inahalation can be helpful.

Let me know if you have any specific queries and I would try to help further.
