Question: Hello doctor
I'm 23 years old. I had d&e two times before. I had late period history. But from last 4-5 months my periods were regular. My last month's period was started on 18th October. This month there's nothing. Home pregnancy tests were negative. I have slightly brown discharge in evening from 2 days but period doesn't started. Last night we had intercourse. There was blood on my husband's penis from my vagina. When I went to bathroom to wash out, ther was blood. But next morning I thought now it will started but there's nothing. Please suggest me what should I do?

Brief Answer:
Wait for a few days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The history of late periods with delay in periods this month and a negative pregnancy test is suggestive of a mild hormonal imbalance. The spotting that you are having now is likely to gradually turn into a full period in next few days. It is best to wait for a few days and let the bleeding gradually increase on its own. In case there is no further bleeding then you will have to consult a gynecologist for hormonal tests and hormonal tablets to have a proper withdrawal bleeding.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.

Can you suggest any hormonal tablet to start bleeding properly?

Brief Answer:
Hormonal tablets do take days to show effect.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Taking hormonal tablets will not help you instantly. After taking hormonal tablets for 5 days the bleeding starts at least 72 hours after the tablets are stopped.
Taking the tablets now will decrease the flow of bleeding whatever you are having now. It is best to wait for a few days now.
Hope my answer is helpful.
