Brief Answer:
Chest pain,SOB following hiatal hernia surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Recurrent nature of your problem following surgery for hiatal hernia points to the possibility of "gas bloat syndrome". Fundoplication i.e. the surgery for hiatal hernia can alter the mechanical ability of the stomach to eliminate swallowed air by belching, leading to an accumulation of gas in the stomach or small intestine and can cause cardio-respiratory discomfort (chest pain left side, more on exertion, shortness of breath).
