Posted on Mon, 17 Nov 2014
Question: I have been having slight chest pain and dizziness at times. My pulse has been a bit high ranging from about 120 to 100 at times of rest. I'm not stressed or anxious about anything so can't figure out why this is. My bp ranges from 120/100 to 130/90

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Heart rate around 120 for such young person is not a normal thing. There must be some reason for that. You may have hypothyroidism, arrhythmia due to some heart issues, stress or ions deficiency. All this issues can cause mentioned by you symptoms.
As you have anxiety disorder, this might be the main reason of such symptoms. And as you do take Citalopram already, maybe you should discuss with your doctor about some changes of dosage. This medicine is a very good way to treat anxiety.
I suggest you to start also Magnessium with Potassium supplementation. Deficiency of this ions can cause similar to yours symptoms. If this want help, you should consult cardiologist. Heart ECG, Holters 24 hours heart monitoring and heart ultrasound should be done. You should also have thyroid tests.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I also get head aches that go with it. My heart rate says the same all day long and I don't think its related to anxiety as I've had this before and this doesn't feel like this. Nausouea also canes and goes. I've had similar symptoms before but not the heart rate being this high. I'm really worried about it. I also get hot and cold sweats with it to. My heart is racing now and I'm laying in bed I have the head ache and a bit of nausea with it but I don't feel anxious or stressed or anything.
