What Causes Chest Pain Along With Numbness In Hands?
Question: At gym yesterday while exercising I experienced chest pains, painful breathing, and numb hands. I quit and came home and rested. Several hours before numbness in hands disappeared. Was this a cardiac event? Should I try to exercise today?

If you would have presented to me as an outpatient, I would have asked you to get an electrocardiogram (ECG) done straightaway. Though, numbness of hands is slight atypical for a cardiac event but with sudden onset chest pain on exertion and painful breathing, it can be a possibility. Please visit a physician urgently, get yourself physically examined and get an ECG done. If he finds any abnormality in lungs auscultation, he may also get a chest x-ray done. Also,get monitored your blood pressure, pulse and blood sugar.
Please follow up with the scanned image of reports. Don't get on exercises unless you get yourself evaluated.
