What Causes Burning Sensation While Breathing Despite Having Asthma Treatment?

Question: I have asthma and I am on antibiotics for bronchitis. I am having a menthol kind of burning sensation when I breathe in.

The antibiotics I am taking is Ciprofloxacin 500mg - 1 twice a day.
I was having this sensation before I went to the doctor for chest cold and sinus congestion. They said I had some Bronchitis and prescribed this medicine. Its not a smell or an odor though, it feels like I am inhaling Vicks Vapor Rub. It feels that way - it does not smell that way.

Ciprofloxacin does not cause it.

Hi back,

Ok then, the menthol feeling you experience is due to alteration of upper respiratory tract mucosa from infection. Ciprofloxacin use won't give such feeling.

I advise to wait till bronchitis is gone to see improvement. If it will persist, then further consultation with ENT specialist is advised.

Meanwhile, you should eat healthy and drink plenty of fluids (water, tea, etc).
