Posted on Fri, 28 Aug 2015
Question: Two weeks ago I started burning and itching in my vaginal tract. I put a mirror up, only to find I have much reddening inside and a growth, which is not solid but seems to be filled with fluid. It doesn't seemed to have grown, but it's smaller than an egg.

Brief Answer:
most probably bartholin cyst, should take antibiotic.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to HCM,

I can understand your concerns,

In my opinion, it is most probably infection of bartholin gland ( bartholin cyst).

I advise that you should take antibiotic (tablet augmentin 625mg) for 5 days and anti-inflammatory drugs( tablet ibuprofen). ( prescription drug) . Consult your gynecologist.

In some cases it does not heal with antibiotic or recurs, in that case it is need of surgically removed (marsuplisation).

My opinion is based on history. For confirm diagnosis I would suggest that you should go for internal examination ( pelvic examination).

Hope it helps.

Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.
