Question: My 73 year old mother fell at a facility today and hit her hip on the edge of a vanity corner she now has a golf ball sized lump and bruise on her upper leg / hip area. How should treat? Should I go to the ER?

I am so sorry to hear about this fall your mother has suffered. I have reviewed her information fully and am not particularly concerned about a serious complication at this time from this fall. I will recommend that you apply ice packs to this area to decease the swelling and also some pain medications. This should be able to address her symptoms and allow for spontaneous healing. Unless something else comes up, there is no need for an ER visit right now. Keep me posted on the progress of this!
