Question: Good morning .. I was diagnosed with breast cancer that metastasized to the lining of, my left lung. It has spread to the stomach tissue and lymph nodes and my stomach is extremely bloated. I cant walk because it causes me difficulty breathing and pain as well. I am having back pain and i think its related to the extreme bloating. Is there something that i can do to get rid of some of this bloating?
Thank you..

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic

Dear Ms
Breathing difficulty is due to involvement of pleura which could also be associated with Pleural effusion.
Breast cancer is known to spread to stomach especially affecting the wall of stomach causing difficulty in distensibility of stomach when food enters stomach. Also involvement of surrounding lymph node may also press on the stomach. This reduces functional volume of stomach.
I would suggest you the following which provide you much needed symptomatic relief
1. Frequent small quantity meals: This will prevent bloating of the stomach.
2. Pantoprozole+Domperidone: Domperidone increase gastric motility and quicken gastric emptying thereby reducing the bloating feeling.
3. Avoid lying down immediately after meals or consumption of fluids.
4. Avoid caffeinated beverages
These will provide much needed symptomatic relief.
I hope it helped
