Brief Answer:
This is not unusual

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
This is usual course if ankle injury that leads at he beginning to pain, then swelling and then after several days hematoma occurs and this is accumulated blood under the skin. this is sign of ligament injury. it will disappear within 2-3 weeks but if there's associated pain and movement difficulties then you should do xrays to rule out fracture. Wish you good health. Regards
