Brief Answer:
Possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern. Flu can cause nose and throat congestion and it can bleed if you try to clear you throat or nose forcefully. And the medicines used to treat flu ( anti histamines) often cause dryness of nose and throat, which can also cause bleeding.
Hypothyrroidism if uncontrolled, can cause bleeding ( like heavy periods in women with uncontrolled hypothyroidism). Diabetes has no direct relation to the bleeding episodes.

Please get a CBC ( complete blood count) to look at the platelet count. Certain virus infections ( including Flu) can cause low platelets which cause bleeding.

I also use various herbs and vitamin supplements are there any in common use that could create nose and throat bleeds. Discovered zinc and arginene to also cause nosebleed. Ate there any others to avoid?

Brief Answer:
Are you on Aspirin?

Detailed Answer:
Not really. The amount of these minerals and vitamins in the supplements are too low. That doesn't seem to be a good explanation for your symptoms. First thing to do is a thorough examination of your nose and throat and also a physical examination to look for clues for the reason of bleeding episodes. Then you may need some blood works like CBC, PT INR , Liver function tests etc. These are important. At you age, please do not neglect these symptoms.

By the way, are you on aspirin ??
