Question: I am on Mirapex for Parkinsons. I am extremely anxious at night and have insomnia.
Could the Mirapex be responsible?

Mirapex is the trade name for the drug pramipexole.

It can be associated with side effects of the nervous system but more commonly causes drowsiness rather than insomnia.
It is not associated with insomnia.

There is a risk of abnormal thoughts as a side effect though anxiety is not mentioned specifically.
It is possible that some of the possible thoughts that may occur may be anxious.

Persons react to drugs differently so if, despite the fact that these are not known problems, you believe they are related to the medication, you should speak to your doctor.
