Brief Answer:
It can be due to ankle synovitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you might be having ankle synovitis. In this condition there is fluid accumulation in the ankle joint. It can be due to following causes.
1.Mild trauma
2.High uric acid level
3.Diabetes
I would suggest you following.
1.Ice application and compression bandage
2.Tablet Advil or paracetamol for pain relief.
3.Compression bandage or anklet can be used.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. If there is increase in pain then you might need to get some blood tests done like Ra factor, ESR , uric acid.
thanks
