Hi Dr. Kanodia, this response accompanies my prior request and pictures of the dark spot on my buttocks. I am 58 years old, male, and a consultant. There is no pain but my buttocks and lower back are itchy. I assumed it was due to dry skin as it’s very cold where U live. I also am a prostate cancer survivor and take Cialis 3 times a month ( 20 grams) and took 5 grams a day for about 6 months. I had a skin cancer check with a doctor in November and at the time, she saw nothing of concern. I do not believe that this brown spit was there then . Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Simple pigmentation and is not related to anything serious.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
Welcome back and thanks a lot for your swift response.
After analyzing the pictures and the details let me first reassure you that the pigmentation is simple pigmentation and is not related to any kind of skin cancer or any malignant condition of skin or any thing related.
To tell you simply: our skin is a multilayerd structure. There are special cells known as melanocytes in the skin. These melanocytes are the cells which regularly produces color/pigment known as melanin in the skin. These are superficially present in the upper skin known as epidermis. This is a tendency in ourselves to get higher activity of these melanocytes. It is due to over activity of melanocytes that we get such kind of pigmentation.
I reassure you again that there is nothing to be worried about and there is no active intervention required for the same.
