Brief Answer:
I suggest a possibility of Pityriasis Alba; It is harmless

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the Image.

I can see a light colored patch on left cheek with ill defined borders.

I will keep a possibility of Pityriasis XXXXXXX
First of all, I would like to assure you that Pityriasis XXXXXXX is not a serious condition at all. It is only of cosmetic concern.

These light colored patches can be somewhat scaly as well, the light color being actually due to post-inflammatory hypopigmentation.

Patches of Pityriasis XXXXXXX are common on dry skin.
I usually recommend using a good moisturizer to may patients, to be applied once or twice daily, all over the face.

Avoid soaps. Rather use a gentle cleanser for face wash e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, twice daily.

You may also use an OTC topical steroid e.g 1% Hydrocortisone twice daily, only for the patches, over and above the moisturizer, for 3-4 weeks.
Alternatively a topical immunomodulator e.g tacrolimus 0.03% ointment works even better than hydrocortisone cream. Use it only over the patches.
Tacrolimus is a prescription drug and I suggest you to talk to your doctor for the needful.

The response usually takes 3-4 weeks to become evident.

Brief Answer:
Can try tacrolimus; it is absolutely safe

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Topical tacrolimus is absolutely safe. You may try it. Rub it in gently for 2-3 minutes. Rubbing enhances penetration.
Use it once or twice daily for 4-6 weeks and you should notice a difference. Sometimes results may take longer e.g 6-8 weeks.
Some patients may complain of a slight smarting/ sensation on application of tacrolimus, otherwise, there are no issues with it.
It does'nt cause any irritation.
