What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Ehlers–Danlos Syndromes?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Apr 2018
Question: I might have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. My pain doc said I am hyper-flexive and it might be causing my shoulder, neck, and migraines. I am also on an IUD similar to mirena. Could this be dangerous in terms of my connective tissues?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

Yes,being hyperflexive at joints especially, shoulder, neck and other major joints of the body may be due to Ehler Danlos syndrome, although, this is not the only reason for the joints being hyperflexive.

Congenital laxity of ligaments and other similar connective tissue disorders also can cause these symptoms.

Migraines and IUD seem to be unrelated.

If you have no pain at the joints and can do all the activities of daily living quite comfortably, then I think you should not worry at all.

Almost all patients with Ehler danlos syndrome lead a normal life.

I would suggest you to consult a physician and get your cardiac, gastro intestinal and respiratory systems checked for any hidden lesions.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.
