Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us.

I have gone through your query and would like to offer my opinion.

If your doctor has checked your hormone levels and felt the need for supplementation, then you may go ahead with the treatment with regular monitoring. The side effects are those seen with hormone treatment like weight gain, breast tenderness, headaches, blurred vision, acne, increased facial hair, gastric disturbances etc. Most of these usually go away once the body adjusts to the hormone status. Please report to your doctor if you find any of them disturbing.

I would also like to offer some suggestions to go through perimenopause and menopause smoothly.
- regular exercise which includes breathing exercises thrice a day and meditation
-increased intake of fresh fruits and vegetables and adequate hydration
-wearing loose fitting cotton clothing to allow good ventilation, avoid synthetic garments as much as possible
-take care to see that your surroundings are cool and comfortable

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
