Brief Answer:
gastric burning and abdominal discomfort will be there, get help

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Handful of naproxen is not fatal but it can cause severe irritation in gastric mucosa and cause ulcer. She may have abdominal discomfort and in severe case there may be chance of Gastro intestinal tract bleeding. I recommend going for help to prevent such complication as soon as possible as you are not aware of exact dose she has taken.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

I believe that the Dosage was only slightly over the limit, taking roughly about 6 or 7 250mg pills for a total of 1500-1750 mg while the limit for adults was 1375mg, however I read that online so it may not be entirely accurate. Is this still cause for concern?

Brief Answer:
Not serious case

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for information.

Maximum recommended dose is 1500 mg per day in divided dose. So she has not taken much high dose. However she has taken dose in single intake that is why it can irritate gantric mucosa. She needs medicines like pantroprazol or Rantac to prevent gastric irritation. Ask her to drink lots of water.

In conclusion it is not cause of concern.

Take care.

Are there any natural remedies that would be effective in treating gantric mucosa? And is it gantric or gastric
doctor
Answered by Dr. Chintan Solanki (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
There are some but not evidence based

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sorry for delayed response. Yes some natural remedies are there to heal damage to gastric mucosa. Ginger, apple cider vinegar, turmeric, oregano, cranberry juice, pineapple (bromelain)
Beet juice and/or carrot juice, green tea and so on. But there are no scientific evidences about the same. She can use one or more from them. Drinking enough water and taking anti acidity medicines like pantroprazol will prevent damage.

Take care.
