What Are The Chances Of Transmission Of HIV And STDs Through Saliva?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Jun 2015
Question: I'm a 49 y.o. male and recently had a prostitute perform oral sex on me. She used a condom. However, she also put a condom on her fingers and inserted them in my anus. She used her saliva as lubricant. About a month ago I had a fissure from a difficult bowel movement. To the best of my knowledge it had healed (no pain or blood on tissue for at least 10 days). What is the risk of STD transmission from her saliva to me?

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic. I have gone through the details.

Since condom is used, the chances of transmission of STDs by oral sex is nil .
The chances of transmission of STDs by Fingering is also nil, unless there is active lesions in the area of contact. As condom is is used chances are nil.
Moreover there is no open wound or ulcer.

The chances of transmission of HIV and other STDs through saliva is nil. There may be a minor possibility of herpes simplex virus(HSV) transmission, if she had active lesions in/around oral cavity.
Otherwise I do not see possibility of STDs getting transmitted by described modes.

You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you

Thankyou. My primary concern was her use of her saliva on the condom she used to finger me. My understanding of your response is that would also be nil concern? Can I assume an HIV test would not be suggested?
