What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy With Protected Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014
Question: Hi,

My last period came on 23 of July. Me and my husband had sex on day 27, 28 and 29 of July (on the fifth, sixth and seventh days) of my period with condom and he pulled out long before he ejaculated on the three occasions. Also I did the water test for the condoms every time and it was ok, no leakage or break.

After that I made ovulation test everyday just to make sure I ovulate far away from the last time we had sex on 27 July, and it was negative everyday but came positive on days 7 and 8 of August, about two weeks after the beginning of my period. After that it became negative again.

Anyways I did not have sex with my husband except on the days I told you which is fifth, sixth and seventh day of my period.

My question is there any chance that i can be pregnant ?
how reliable is that test ? does it mean that I ovulated at that time and ONLY at that time ? is there a chance that if some sperm escaped from condom that it lived for seven days ? even though the initial rise in LH levels was more than 7 days since last time I had sex (about 9 days) ?

I am having light cramps and my period still need one week to come, could this be early pregnancy signs ?

please help I am super scared

thanks

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
You are unlikely to be pregnant. Fron the details of having sex on particular dates and the possible dates of ovulation, chances of pregnancy are least. Also you had protected sex and this further reduces any chances of pregnancy.

The ovulation tests are dependable but may slightly differ with hormone levels. Cramps may occur due to many other causes.

You may wait for another week for the next periods to start. However if you want an immediate confirmation then doing home pregnancy test is most accurate. It should be done after 15 days of last sexual intercourse for best results.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
