What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Unprotected Sex While On Birth Control Pills?

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Apr 2015
Question: So I started the combined birth control pill on the 1 of march and had unprotected sex on the 8th. Is there a risk of pregnancy? My boyfriend did not ejaculate an it was just a quickie, not even for 5 minutes!

Brief Answer:
Little risk of pregnancy is there

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
It is important to take combined birth control pill for a month at least before it can provide adequate protection. Till that time you should use another contraceptive method like condoms for complete protection.

As there is little risk of pregnancy even with pre ejaculatory fluid (small amount of clear fluid that comes out through the erect penis) containing sperms entering the vagina you must get concerned if you do not have your next periods on time with a maximum delay of about one week from the expected date.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
