Brief Answer:
Very unlikely unless he was not experienced
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this absent heartbeat that was reported following the
ultrasound findings. If this ultrasound was done by a
radiologist or an experienced ultrasound specialist, there are very little or chances for this to have been an error. This is one of the simplest things that every one can see on an ultrasound as the heartbeats are always very clear and gives no room for doubts. Absence is often absence unless this was done by someone who knows nothing on ultrasounds.
Well, it never hurts getting a
second opinion and ore so if you have any doubts about the expertise of the ultrasonographer. This would at least give you another answer on this.
I understand how difficult it is when we so want to keep a
pregnancy and such terrible news suddenly comes knocking at our doors. I will like to counsel you to accept the final verdict and follow up with your
OBGYN. I a confident you would be able to get pregnant again sometime soon. Let your doctors also probe further to identify the possible cause of this
miscarriage so that it can be corrected to prevent similar outcomes in future.
I hope this helps. I wish you well and feel free to ask for clarification or more information if need be. Thanks for using our services.
Dr. Ditah, MD.
