Question: Can one have a reaccurance of appendicitis 2 yrs after it was removed. Friday night sever pain in abdominal area. Thinking it was food I ate. Bowl movements but not diarrhea. No fever until Saturday midday it started increasing to 101.7. Tylenol cleared that and is now 99.6. Everything was gatting better until 4 AM Sunday with abdominal pain again.Friday first onset whole body pain. Body pain not as bad. Thought everything was getting better until 4 AM pain started again.

Generally reoccurrence of acute appendicitis is not possible and only in one case it can happen if appendix stump is left to long and then it is called stump appendicitis. It would hurt in lower right abdomen and associated with nausea and loss of appetite. Fever would be late sign of it. In your case some other ore common causes should be considered. First of all,enterocolitis or any general infection,viral or bacterial. So at this point it doesn't sound like surgical emergency. But in some cases diseases such as diverticulitis,pelvic infections can be cause of these symptoms. So I suggest to do inflammatory markers and abdominal ultrasound,drink plenty of fluids,eat easier food and rest. Wish you good health. Regards
